Spotlight On: Cassie Fidler

I think it’s well documented by now that we just love to shout about how great our community are. Be they instructors, staff, or students, we think they are all great and we want you to know about it. This week we’re talking to the lovely Cassidy about how she came to GA, what she likes about it and what advice she’d give future students

What were you doing before GA?

I had just transitioned from marketing at FutureLearn, where I work, to being a Product Manager and was initially sent on the Product Management course as a student!

Tell me three things you love about your role at GA?

I love getting to meet new people and sharing experiences with them. In a past life I was a teacher and so I love teaching and mentoring people, anything that helps them to grow, learn and feel supported. I also love working with the other instructors and instructional teams to deliver these courses, every time is unique but every time is so valuable and exciting.

What do you like about GA?

There is an atmosphere at GA that I’ve never quite experienced anywhere else! It’s such a vibrant, engaging and welcoming place to be, courses are of such a high quality and I really love how GA opens us up to new experiences and opportunities. A few years ago I would never have imagined I would be teaching on courses alongside such brilliant instructors. My confidence as an instructor assistant and Product Manager has grown over the past two years and I have to thank GA a lot for that. It’s not all about the instructional team either but everyone who works at GA who just make it a very special place.

One piece of advice you’d give to the students?

Come prepared to give it your all, bring your best self but don’t be too hard on yourself and you can always rely on your instructional team!
